Thrilling book, diffficult format

The book contains the views of the principal opponents of the Fact/value dichotomy in the form of a series of articles that are styled as responses to each other. These pieces have some original material-for example there is Martha Nussbaum's devastating answer to Pareto optimality-and they do reveal the subtle, and in one case not so subtle differences among the authors. It may well be my own limitation, but I found it difficult, albeit ultimately rewarding to keep track of just what it is that the author is responding to and what is, in fact, original material
